Title:Day 22 - Monday - August 25, 2008
Reference:DEUTERONOMY 15: 10-11
Notes:

DEUTERONOMY 15: 10-11 (NIV) - “Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hands to. There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore, I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.”

Compassion for others, and especially those in need, has always been a part of my life. Since early adulthood, I have given generously of my time, talent and money through the church. Experiences from helping a struggling young family to numerous mission trips have brought many blessings. Leadership of Local Missions Team at Good News has broadened my perspective to the needs of those in our surrounding community.

Support of several Compassion International Children has certainly opened my eyes to the poverty of these children, and they have blessed me through their letters. They call me “Grandma” and one of my little girls wrote to thank me for the $25 Christmas gift. She said she bought shoes and a dress, and she was so thankful. She brought me to tears when she wrote, “May the Almighty God fill your pockets and bless the work of your hands.” My dear brothers and sisters, this is my prayer for you.
