| Notes: | PROVERBS 3:3-5 (NIV) -“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight.”
As a child growing up I was raised by two Christian parents, although we did not go to church. Prayers were said at meals and bedtime.
To me God was the “big man” up in heaven. I was also taught that I had a fairly good brain and abilities, which I was expected to use. I wrongly assumed that I could go to God only for the really big situations and then only after I had used every resource available to me.
As a young adult, going to church was sporadic. It was not until a major crisis happened in my mid-30’s that I learned that it was really o.k. to turn to God about anything, be it small or big.
When I realized this, it totally changed my life. I repeat Proverbs 3:5-6 throughout each and every day.
