| Notes: | Faith Quest is an adventure into God’s word. In this document, 40
Scripture verses have been selected by members of the Good News
congregation, and each person has provided his or her insight into the
personal meaning that the verse to them. The chosen Scriptures reflect
on what the Bible says concerning faith, prayer, presence, gifts and
service. The intention is that one verse and its accompanying
description may be utilized as a daily devotional by each of us over a
40 day period which will conclude with a celebration of faith at our
church.
Please give this material the time needed each day to read and
reflect on its meaning for you. The expectation is that if we don’t
currently have a personal relationship with Jesus, this material will
assist in the development of that relationship. For those who do have a
close relationship with Christ, it is our prayer that this material
will assist in
strengthening our trust in God and His word, so that we will be drawn even closer to Him.
As you reflect on each of these daily devotionals, consider how
our church can become an even better vehicle that connects people to
God through Jesus Christ. Also, consider how each of us can better
manage God’s blessings in order to respond most appropriately to His
goodness. Can we become better servants, not just of our church, but of
God through our church? As better servants of God, we will surely be
blessed in experiencing what God does when we are more obedient to Him!
A concluding thought: A special thank you to all who willingly and
joyfully contributed to the devotionals. We recognize that there are
some people who may have wished to contribute to this effort that
somehow weren’t given the opportunity, or may have had other priorities
at this time. Having others lead the creation of another devotional
book for our church for another occasion, such as Lent or Christmas,
may be a project for the future. As this booklet demonstrates, the Good
News congregation is composed of people of strong and growing faith who
can support and inspire each other with words as well as action.
