God’s Word is treasure worth searching and finding! In August we want you to pray with us and prepare with us as we all go on an adventure into God’s Word. Our adventure, called Faith Quest, will be the first attempt by Good News to devote time to God’s Word accessible in numerous multi-media formats. We’ll have a series of devotionals which will share God’s Word from 40 different passages. The devotional messages from those passages will be from you and your fellow travelers on Faith Quest (the people who sit beside you on Sunday and at Bible Study).

Here’s where the journey will get interesting. First, a passage will be selected from each week for the weekly message on Sunday morning. We will all have the chance to participate in living that passage out and meditating on God’s Word as we focus on that mini-Easter we call Sunday morning.

For readers the passages and devotionals will be printed and sent to every church member. For the listener the devotionals and passages will be recorded in CD format so that you can play them at home or in your car. For the computer junkie you can either play the CD on your computer or go to the website and download it as an MP3. You an put it on your IPOD or other p_layer_ and listen as you jog, work or just relax.

For those of us not so technically inclined this will be a major undertaking. But I believe it will be a joyful way in which a very diverse congregation can, in unity, go to God’s Word for wisdom in living daily life.

The treasure hunt is on, and you are on our safari. I’ll do my best to be your guide. I pray that you will do your part to prepare for God’s power to come upon a people called Good News! Pray for our work as we bring all of these technologies together. Pray for our people that they will hear God's voice loud and clear. And remember, God's word is a light unto our path and a lamp unto our feet. May His will for your life be revealed by His light!
