Hi Folks!

May this day find you immersed in God's grace!

In addition to sending you the March Good News Calendar (attached) I wanted to reflect upon something I spoke with one of our members about last night. It seems his computer was not acting properly. There are several options to correct this situation.

You could take it to a computer shop, but which one really knows their stuff? I did this last year and my computer was missing in action for two months!

You could read the manual and try to fix it your self, but you would need to know what the manual writer meant. Trouble is, many computer manuals are written in another country and something gets lost in the translation.

You could call Microsoft, but if they lead you through the repair you might do something wrong. It's kind of like that commercial where the doctor in on the phone telling the guy how to operate on himself. Can you say, OOPS?

But there is another way. There is a new technology called "GO TO MY PC." Simply put, you turn your system over to a technician who takes charge of your computer and makes the necessary changes from their location pretty much anywhere in the world. WOW, that is the way to turn things over to someone who really knows what they are doing!

Computers come and go as technology improves. We junk the old model and trade up to a better, faster model. It isn't so easy with people. People tend to use the same old techniques to "fix" life they have always used. Some even look into the users manual (the Bible) but they use their own understanding to "tweak" their interpretation to their own benefit. They aren't really any better off, because knowing and ignoring truth is worse than not knowing the truth at all (2 Peter 2:21 It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life).

Here's a better way. Keep that Bible open. Pray for the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you are reading. Turn that pesky problem over to the one who knows your personal operating system (the good and the bad). Seek God's solution, even if it rubs you the wrong way or places your pride on the back burner. Turn yourself over to the expert who will come in, rearrange your "software," fix what's wrong, and then gently say those words we need to hear, "Now go and sin no more."

We do it with a computer that has no eternal value. Why not do it with your heart?

In Christ's Love, Randy
