WOW! The week has been a whirlwind of things to do and things to "catch up." Being out a week seems to generate more than a week of work. How does that happen?
But the big events of this week are lots of little things. Lots of children running around Good News in the orderly chaos we call Vacation Bible School. It has gone very well. Dayna and Michelle and a throng of volunteers have done a great job with telling the kids to, believe in Christ, obey God's Word, act out their faith, forgive others and choose Jesus. I pray all reading this e-mail will strive to do the things our children are being taught. If WE can follow Christ in this way our church and our nation will be a better place.
As I have been cleaning off my desk and continuing to plan for the future of Good News I have realized that God sometimes pushes us forward and sometimes tells us to wait for His timing. In doing this we have elected to postpone our Woman's Bible study originally scheduled for Thursday mornings. We will be doing this Bible study in September and will be able to apply all of the necessary resources to God's leading when we begin a major ecumenical effort to spread God's Word throughout the world (starting with South Walton County). I hope you will become involved and immersed in the living Word this fall.
In the meantime, we are looking forward to Faith Quest in August. You may see some adventurous and strange characters around our church as we get closer to August. I've already heard about a handsome man with a hat and a whip that has expressed interest in leading our safari. Who could it be?
If you want to know the answer you'll just have to come in August to find out. Sorry!
In Christ's Love, Randy
